Troubleshooting Chucking When Using Demco Hijacker Autoslide With Locked Out Lippert Turning Point
Updated 04/02/2021 | Published 03/31/2021 >
Question:
Hello I just used the above hitch I bought from you on my 2016 chevy 6.6foot bed, works great with the auto slide. My brand new Jayco came with Turning Point hitch and is in the locked out position. My two questions are #1-the front of the pin box is angled slightly toward the front and doesnt fit tightly into the adjustable capture plates small gap towards the front since the pin box is not square and #2- I am getting a lot of chucking tremendous when taking off. So my question is do I need another type of pin box Mor Ryde to absorb the shock and also with a square end to fit better into the capture plates? or different capture plates.

I reached out to my contact at Demco and he mentioned that you will want to make sure you are using the universal locking plate the was included with your Lippert turning point pin box on your New Jayco 5th wheel trailer.
There is a long side and short side, and with your Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider - Single Jaw - Above Bed - 18,000 lbs # DM8550034 you will want to use the short side.
Doing this will get rid of the chucking issue and gap you currently have.
I included a video of the # DM8550034 for you to take a look at.
