Question:
Hello, Im a hardware engineer at Aptiv, an automotive tier 1 company in the USA. I am working on a trailer tow lighting module for Ford for the global market. I would like to understand more about the European trailer LEDs requirements, I understand majority of the LED incorporate shunt resistors while others not so much. I would like to purchase some trailer lighting, specifically for Constant Current load, LED with shunt resistors, and LED without shunt resistors. Can you please provide part numbers for such requirements. Thank you for your time.

I have a solution for you, but none of the LED lights we carry come with built in resistors; in some cases adding a resistor to a trailer with existing LED lights isn't going to be necessary. In situations where hyper-flashing occurs they'd just need to add one into the wiring with the Load Resistor Kit # DI34ZR. These could just be wired in behind an LED light like the Fusion LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Tail, Turn, Backup - Submersible - Oval - Red/Clear Lens # STL68RB and allow them to work properly.
If you're looking for specific sized LED trailer lights for this, just let me know what size and I can help you locate something that might work. This would be our most popular solution for this type of setup though since I'm not aware of any of the lights we carry coming with built in resistors.
