Question:
Hello: I am new to RV trailer pull and I need assistance in pinning down the proper weight distribution hitch for my truck and trailer combo. My truck is a 2021 Ram 1500 5.7L V8 Laramie with the Max. Towing Package. GVWR is 7,100 lbs. Front axle GVWR rating is 3900 lbs. and the Rear Axle GVWR is rated at 4,100 lbs. It has a GCVWR of 17,000 lbs. and a Max. Trailer weight rating of 11,501 lbs. My trailer is a 2021 Rockwood Mini-lite 22, with a GVWR of 5,692 lbs. and has a measured Tongue Weight of just slightly over 600 lbs. I currently have a Husky Round-bar WD hitch with additional Friction Sway Control bar. The Tension Bars are rated at 400-600 lbs. each. The shank is rated at 14,000 lbs. and the Hitch ball is rated at 12,000 lbs. 2-5/16 I have pulled this trailer with the equipment mentioned above and I am not quite comfortable with the set-up and would like better built in sway control. Can you suggest a WD Hitch between the Fastway, Curt and Blue Ox brands. Thank you for your time.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since your tongue weight is a little over 600 lbs the best weight distribution from the brands you mentioned would be the Blue Ox TrackPro part # BLU47FR which has a tongue weight range of 500 - 800 lbs and features a great friction sway control.
The other brands you mentioned don't have a system rated well for the tongue weight you have as they have great options for higher and lower rated setups.
