Question:

I am looking for an adjustable height removable rack system to carry on my 2013 ford f-150. i will be mounting a roof top tent which will sleep 2-4. The tent weighs 150 lbs. but cantilevers out to the side. people weight in the tent will be 250-500 lbs. Will this rack adequately hold this ?. If not, options ?

The carrying capacity of the Thule Xsporter ladder rack # TH500XT is 450 pounds which will be 50 pounds less than what you need. For a 500 pound capacity rack we have some options from Access. For an 8 foot bed use # A70590. And for the 5-1/2 foot bed use # A70490.

Before using the roof top tent I recommend making sure the truck roof has the capacity for the weight you want to put on it. This information may be found in the owners manual.

Another option you might want to consider is another type of tent. Rightline makes a line of truck bed tents in different styles and options. I have included a link to them for you to check out.
