Can I Lift Vehicle Without Supporting Firestone Air Springs?
Updated 03/02/2021 | Published 02/25/2021 >
Question:
I have the Firestone 2609 airbags on my 2019 four wheel drive Silverado. The bolts used to mount the lower bracket to the differential look to be, well, not very strong. Is it ok to raise the truck on a lift for servicing without having to support the differential? Thanks

When air bags are installed, you usually need to support the rear axle when the vehicle is hoisted. Now, Firestone is actually really proud of their air springs design since they use technology from their heavy truck Airide springs and these can withstand thousands of pounds of pulling force without damage.
As for the hardware, that's made to support the air springs. As long as they were installed correctly, they will be able to hold while the vehicle is lifted. Also, when you vehicle is lifted, it won't just be your airbags and their hardware supporting your rear axle. I linked the install video below if you want to check that process and review out.
