In regards to air bags like the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2609 for a 2020 GMC Sierra 1500, these are supplements to an already working and functioning suspension system. Therefore, even if you lose air pressure which is pretty rare you are still fine to continue as normal. You will likely have more sag/squat than before but so long as you are towing within capacity your truck can handle it. Air Lift has an option that has internal bumpers in the air bags so if you lose all air there is still support, the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers part # AL88288.

I know losing air sounds like a major drawback but you rarely hear of this happening anymore, it's just not very common at all.
