Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Load: 5,000-lb Load-Leveling Capacity

When heavy trailers or bed cargo cause rear sag, these Firestone Ride-Rite air helper springs keep your truck level and controlled. Each air spring adds up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling support between the frame and suspension. By maintaining even weight distribution, steering response and braking stay steady, headlight aim stays correct, and tire wear stays even no matter how much weight you’re hauling.

Smooth Out the Ride: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 to 100 psi

Every load feels different, and the F2609 kit adjusts to match. Each air bag is manually adjustable from 5 to 100 psi using individual inflation valves that let you fine-tune pressure side to side for off-center loads. Raise the pressure when towing or hauling to reduce squat and sway, then drop it down when unloaded for a smoother ride that still soaks up bumps without harshness or bottoming out.

Built Tough for Heavy Use: Double-Convoluted, Reinforced Rubber Design

The double-convoluted construction with four layers of reinforced rubber and a braided wire girdle gives these springs maximum load support and durability. Corrosion-resistant metal end plates and a rolled crimp seal keep each air bag securely anchored under pressure. This heavy-duty build absorbs road shock, reduces friction in the leaf springs, and prevents permanent sagging so your suspension can handle real work day after day.

DIY-Friendly Setup: Simple No-Drill Installation

Installing real load support doesn’t have to be complicated. The Ride-Rite kit includes custom brackets, air springs, hardware, air line, and separate manual inflation valves for a straightforward bolt-on setup—no drilling required. The airline routing gives easy access at the rear bumper for quick adjustments by hand or with an optional compressor system if you want in-cab control later on.

Thank you for updating us on the process of our order. Making sure we recieved the order. Making sure everything worked out.

Awesome springs. I have the stock Rancho shocks on my Silverado and they are terrible. I then added Timbren helper springs and towing was better but the daily ride was terrible and the slapping when the spring met the axle was horrible. Finally I added the Firestone bags and OMG what a terrific all around ride. While towing and while daily driving the ride is the way the truck should be from the factory! Install was about an hour and a half and was/is pretty straight forward. I opted not to use the cheap valve bracket and went through the bumper for a clean look that was easy to access.

Product is still fantastic BUT you must know that these bags do leak and I have a reminder monthly to air them back up to the 10-15lbs that I prefer when unloaded. I also removed the push on connectors and opted for DOT approved type valves and the leaking is now minimized. I opted to go with manual vs an air pump for simplicity sake and do understand that a pump would eliminate the need for monitoring.

@Derek When you insert the air lines into the bags or into the Schrader valve assemblies, it's crucial that the cut made on the air line is clean (not jagged) and is perfectly perpendicular, otherwise you'll get leaks. Using a tubing cutter like # AL10530 will ensure that you get a perfect cut every time.

What a difference these helper springs made on my truck!! I have a Chevy 1500 and they were lacking in the suspension department. A friend suggested that I get a set of air bags for my truck and I purchased the Firestone helper springs. Total night and day difference. My camper is 9,800 lbs and I can't even tell it's on when I have these pumped up to about 50 psi. Installation wasn't bad, about an hour and a half to install.

The Firestone helper springs have worked flawlessly. I love them. They make my life easier. I have them installed on my 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 LT.

by:

Came on time as they said check contents and found bag was open but all parts were in the box.

by:

I have been researching out this system for a long time. I finally pull the trigger on these airbags. The order was delivered quickly and a lot sooner than I expected. I am waiting for my truck to get repaired after I was rear ended the Monday I ordered these. I will update once I get them installed.

F2609 for 2025 1500 Trail Boss, NOT PLUG AND PLAY! Right Rear Lower bracket interferes with the hard brake line. Video on ETrailer shows it if you look closely. No significant help from ETrailer customer service. One needs to bend the line out of the way to mount this bracket. Chevy dealer let me check other 1500's on the lot, the bracket interferes with all (5 different models checked). At 5 psi the box measured at the wheel well is lifted a 1/2". This is the second truck I have had with the same double convoluted bags. Better than trying to fit an 11" bag/bracket (different brand) into a 9" opening (axel to frame). After 6 months 11k miles (6k towing 6.5k lb travel trailer 30 psi) I recommend these bags.

by:

Very easy instructions and went on easy. Do not hesitate to purchase. No drilling or modification needed like other brands.

by:

the install would of went great if you had included the correct locknuts.
you gave me (2) 5/8-11 locknuts. The install requires (2) 5/8-18. I had to make a trip to the hardware store to get the correct ones.
The truck rides great.

by:

Jam nut would not go on the air line connector. Had to remove the air spring and rethread it.

by:

Perfect fitment! This kit really thought of everything. No hardware i didn't need nor that I felt was missing. I lifted the truck from the frame to give myself more room while working on the ground but even if I hadn't it would have been fine. The only caveat, it's time to go fishing through your junk drawer for all those IKEA Allen wrenches you couldn't dare to throw away, all the hardware consist of Allen head screws. Which is fine if you never plan on removing them again and it's pretty hard to over torque and break a bolt.

by:

Fairly easy to install. Brackets system and hardware all fit well. Time will tell on durability but system seems pretty rugged

by:

As described perfect

by:

Very please with the kit. Installing the bags went good. Very happy with the quality.

by:

Not installed yet but ordering was fast and easy

by:

The bags looked as though they were used and rebooted. The tubing was extremely rigid and was virtually impossible to run along the frame because it had been coiled for a while. Multiple crimps occurred when attempting to straighten the tubing. I am waiting for replacement tubing to arrive in order to complete the project.

by:

Delivery was as expected. An inventory of the parts was complete. Packaging of the brackets would have been better. The coating was missing in several areas, due to the fittings not being individually protected. I have not installed the airbags.

by:

Yes, it was delivered. The UPS man handed to me himself.
One piece of advice when I told you, I had the GMC AT4 you guys should have in your system that you will need this additional part. That I had to call yesterday and order and you had to overnight to me so everything came together. They would’ve saved y’all some money and freight. And my stress of not having that part or whether it would get here in time.
Your video showed in the tech explained you would have to have this spacer if you had a AT4 not totally your fault, but your company needs to get that information in your system.

by:

Next time, the product needs to be packaged better so it doesn't get damaged, because the shipping companies aren't very professional.
Product is the best in price and the quality

by:

installing video was great. But make sure you remove the tire, it will make it much easier to access the four screws and to crawl under the truck. The firestone instruction on where to put the bracket strap bar was very confusing. Getting the four nuts to fit and fit a rachet under the nuts was very difficult and probably the worst part of the install. If you have a lift instead of crawling under the truck, I would highly recommend that. Ride is a bit rougher than the OEM set-up.

@Ray Glad to hear it! What are you using them to help you tow?

by:

This is my second set of Firestone Ride-Rite air springs, and I remain very satisfied with their performance. I regularly tow a 7,000 lb boat with my Chevy 1500, and these air springs provide a noticeable improvement in both stability and ride comfort. They level the truck properly and prevent the rear suspension from bouncing excessively over bumps, which makes towing much more controlled and comfortable. Installation is straightforward and can be completed with basic hand tools. Overall, I would recommend these to anyone towing several thousand pounds without a weight distribution hitch.

by:

Received the kit both nuts to hold top of bag to the bracket were the wrong thread. Had to go buy 2 correct ones. Did not need the 2" lift kit I was told I needed. Other than the two issues the works OK

by:

I trust E-Trailer to set me up right. This will be the second set of helper springs I have installed on a vehicle. The videos and information is great to help set these up. I would have rated these 5 stars with one small exception. On the cover of the instructions this model says it is not compatible with my vehicle, which i did not notice until I had installed them on the vehicle. When I look up the model that the instructions said I should use, I am advised they do not fit my vehicle. These seem to fit as instructed without any problem. I would like to know what E-Trailer recommends.

I looked up your 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Limited, and these are definitely the right ones for you David! Not sure why the instructions would say they are not. Can you check the box that it has part number W217602609 or 2609 on it? Please confirm the part number for me so I can make sure you got the right kit =)

by:

First time air bag user, had Timberens and absolutly did not like them so decided to make the switch. Very easy install only took a couple hours the hardest part was routing the air lines. The ride is as good as stock with 6psi for normal every day driving. Have not had a chance to tow with them yet so that is to be decided still. Delivery was fast and product was all intact. Etrailer had the best price over several other web sites with the same product. Zero complaints so far for the product and service.

  • Suspension Enhancement For A 2023 Chevy 1500 Duramax 4x4 With Adaptive Ride Control
I do have a potential option for you, but unfortunately we do not offer an air bag kit for your 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country Duramax 3.0L 4x4 with adaptive ride control suspension. We do have the # F2609 kit from firestone which does fit trucks with the adaptive ride control, but it will not fit Diesel models. We would have to go in a different direction to enhance the suspension on your truck. Your best bet will be a RoadActive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement...

These have a 5,000 lbs load leveling capacity and come with custom fit brackets that attach to your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500's frame.
