Recommended 7-Way Connector for a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited w/ the Factory Tow Package

Question:

I have a 2018 Jeep wrangler unlimited JK, and i want to get this kit in order to tow a travel trailer with trailer brakes. I do not have a 7 pin connector on my Jeep just the stock 4 pin. What do I need to make this work, in order to switch from the standard 4 pin to the 7 pin or does this kit come with everything I need? Thanks

Hey Jacob! If your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited came with that 4-way connector from the factory, all you'll need is the Hopkins Endurance Quick-Install 7-Way Trailer Connector item # HM42190. This one plugs directly into your Jeep's factory wiring. You'll want to follow your existing 4-way connector back until it plugs into your Jeeps wiring behind the bumper. The plug you're looking for will look like the rectangular one on the picture below.

Does your 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited have the factory tow package? If you have an aftermarket 4-way connector then we'll need to go another direction. You can answer this in the comment box below and if you have any additional questions go ahead and throw them in there as well.
