Question:
Hello - I’m looking to narrow my options for a bike rack. I have a 2017 Toyota Highlander with a 2” hitch. I will be transporting a Trek Verve+3 ebike with fenders. I’m told it weighs 54.4 lbs. I’ll also be transporting my wife’s Cannondale step-thru non electric. I am looking for your recommendations! Thank you

You will want to go with Swagman Current Bike Rack # S64678 to transport your Trek Verve 3 ebike and Cannondale step-thru bike. This will fit the 2" receiver on your 2017 Toyota Highlander. I did confirm that the weight of your Trek Verve 3 is 54.4lbs, so this 2 bike carrier with a weight capacity of 60lbs per bike which will be perfect. This carrier uses padded hooks to secure your bikes by the frame. You may want to use adapter bar # 64005; this makes it easier and safer when securing a step-thru or oddly shaped bike on the carrier.
A few neat features that this bike carrier offers are the anti-rattle hitch pin and the theft-deterrent locks. The anti-rattle hitch pin will reduce the movement of the rack in the hitch receiver, thus reducing noise and vibration. The hitch pin also locks, keeping your bike rack secured to the receiver. There are also built-in lock cores on the hooks that will keep your bike locked to the carrier. These locks are keyed alike, so you can use the same key for all three. I have attached a demonstration video for these two products.
