I want to flat tow a 2006 Mini S Convertible - STD. TRANS. I prefer the Blue Ox base plate system. For this very light car which tow bar can I use? I would also need a receiver hitch for the mini.

You asked about Blue Ox products, but for your Mini the parts were not compatible to your tow vehicle.
To flat tow your 2006 Mini Cooper Convertible S model (with standard transmission) you will first need Roadmaster # 521876-1 base plates which are hidden well and have easy to use twist-lock mechanisms. Next you will need a compatible tow bar. I strongly recommend a non-binding tow bar because with it you will not need to have the vehicle and motorhome perfectly straight and level to hook up or disconnect. If you ever had to fight with a tow bar because it bound up then you know how much of a pain, literally and figuratively, it can be. That is why I recommend the Roadmaster # RM-522 tow bar. I have attached videos for your tow bar.
You will also need safety cables. The Roadmaster tow bar has safety cable channels so I recommend straight cables # RM-646 . I have attached a video showing the installation and use.
Next you will need a lighting solution to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your towed vehicle. A popular option for many vehicles is the diode kit # RM-152-LED-7 .
You may also need a high/low adapter to keep the tow bar level. I have linked a help article showing how to measure and a link to the high/low adapters we carry.
Regarding supplemental braking for your towed vehicle, you should check your home state and frequently traveled states for their laws. Most states have some rules for flat towed vehicles. If it turns out that you need them the easiest system to set up and use is the Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37TR , that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the safest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
Be sure to consult your vehicle owners manual for specific information on flat towing the vehicle. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
You asked about a hitch receiver for your Mini. A hitch for the āSā series is not produced due to the exhaust location.
