Where to Find the Stoplight Switch on a 2011 Ford E350 to Install a Brake Controller
Question:
Can you tell me where I can pick up the brake signal for the trailer brake control on my 2011 ford e350 without factory towing package. Is there A prewired connector or do I have to go off of the brake switch? Thank you

To get the brake light signal you will need to tap into the stoplight switch behind the brake pedal. You will want to use a circuit tester like the part # 3808 to test for the circuit that has voltage when the brakes are applied and none when they are not being applied.
In order to install a brake controller you are first going to need a 4-way at the rear of your vehicle. For that I would recommend a Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring # 118551. I attached review videos and installation instructions for you to check out.
Next you will need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way. For that I would recommend a Brake Controller 7 & 4 Way Installation Kit # ETBC7. This comes with everything you will need to make this conversion and have a fully functional 7-way that will work with a brake controller.
If you do not have a brake controller picked out yet I would recommend the Tekonsha P2 Brake Controller # 90885. This is one of our best selling brake controllers because of how easy it is to setup and use, as well as how it performs.
