What Are the Dimensions of the Curt Weight Distribution Round Bars Where They Insert Into the Head

Question:
Bought a used trailer that came with a Curt hitch. One bar has been worn down at the bend. No markings on bar. Trailer is 27foot so the 800 to 1000 tongue weight is what I need. But I dont know what I have. Are there dimensions that would determine what I have?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Assuming that you do have a Curt weight distribution system that has a tongue weight rating of between 800-lbs and 1,000-lbs you can use the Replacement Spring Bar for Curt Round Bar Weight Distribution System - 800-1,000 lbs TW # C17073. The round spring bar is 1-3/8" in diameter and has a notch on the upper part of the bar that inserts into the head that is 3/8" tall and starts 9/16" from the top of the bar. You can use these measurements to determine if these bars will match your old ones; I've also linked a rather rudimentary photo with dimensional drawings that you illustrates this.
These would be the correct bars for a trailer with a tongue weight in that range.
