Im looking for a roof rack system to install on my 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner double cab short bed camper shell. Im planning on installing a roof top tent on the camper shell. Do you have any recommendations on which roof rack system will work? My camper shell does not have any holes drilled in it yet.

We do have what you need in order to install a roof rack on the camper shell of your Toyota Tacoma with a 5 foot bed, and you'll need to start with a track system. Since you have a short bed (and therefore shell), I recommend going with 50 inch tracks, the Rhino-Rack RT-Style Roof Rack Tracks - Rivet Mount # RRRTV128.

The next thing you will need are legs that fit the tracks and allow you to mount the crossbars, with the correct part for that being the Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs # RRRLT600.

Finally, you will just need the crossbars, and the appropriate size will be the 54 inch long Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars # RRVA137B-2.

This combination of parts is going to be perfect for you to mount a sturdy rack system on the shell of your Tacoma.
