How To Use Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller On Vehicle with 4 Pin Harness
Question:
Hi! Im interested in Tekonsha RF controller TK94FR and have quick question. My RAV4 doesnt have tow package and I installed 4 pin harness myself. This Tekonsha RF unit plugs into 7-pin connector on vehicle side. My question is: what signals does it get from it? turn/stop lights? 12V 40A from battery for electric brakes on trailer? In other words - what extra wiring will I require for this unit to work on my RAV4? Thanks in advance!

The Tekonsha Prodigy RF Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # TK94FR will use the stop/turn signal circuit for an trigger/activation and then the battery charge line circuit for power. Therefore, if you have a 4-way trailer connector and need to upgrade to a 7-way you only need to hook up the 4-way plug, white ground, and black power wire which will be run to the vehicle's battery. The perfect option for this is our 4 to 7 and 4-Way Trailer Connector Adapter Kit part # ETBC7L as it comes with the adapter and power wire/breaker that is required for the above.
