Question:
I am looking for a trailer for two Old Town Sportsman 136 kayaks, which are 13foot 6inch fishing kayaks. The MicroSport and XtraLight both look capable, with the biggest difference looking like the tires/wheels. Is there a benefit of one over the other? I will be traveling frequently, either to a lake that is 2-1/2 hours drive, or to the coast that is 1 hour drive. So, I need something that is stable and safe at highway speeds, preferably interstate speeds.

Your Old Town Sportsman 136 kayak is 158 lbs, so for two of them I recommend the Malone LowBed MicroSport Trailer # MAL25FR. This comes with the kayak bunks for 2 kayaks and has the crossbars with integrated d-rings. This has a per boat restriction of 25 lbs where the similar Malone MicroSport Trailer for 2 Heavy Kayaks - 13' Long - 800 lbs # MPG461GS has a per boat restriction of 150 lbs based on the capacity of the kayak carriers.
This kayak trailer is rated for speeds up to 70 mph.
