Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and we're going to be taking a quick look at the spare tire for your Malone XtraLight LowMax Trailer. This is also going to have the actual carrier or the attachment to the tongue of your trailer to hold this in place. It's a good idea to have an extra tire with you, you never know what's going to happen out on the road. If you have one of these with you, can maybe help you to keep going rather than having to stop and find the right replacement for you or end your trip too soon. As I mentioned, it does come with the tire and wheel assembled, and then also comes with that little attachment onto the tongue of your trailer.
It makes it pretty easy to attach this. You can also lock that bracket to the tongue of your trailer.It does not come with a lock, but there are a lot of options for that here at etrailer.com. Something that would go on the studs at the end there, or just lock those two together. These are going to fit through our wheel and then this would be what goes around the tongue of your trailer and then it comes with two lug nuts to secure that down, depending on what kind of lock you get. You don't have to get a lock, but it's not a bad idea, but if you do, you might not end up needing both of these, you might only need one or neither, but they are there just in case you do need them.
As far as the specs with our tire, it does meet DOT and Transport Canada approval. The diameter is eight inches, the bolt pattern here is five on four and a half.So five openings that are four and a half inches apart going through the center in between those two on the other side are directly across. The wheel capacity is 940 pounds, the tire size is 20 inches in diameter and eight inches wide. Wheel diameter that's referring to the metal portion here and then the ply rating is four and it does have a five-year limited warranty. The max speed with this is 70 miles per hour.
