J-Style Kayak Carrier That Easily Mounts to Square Crossbars

Is there another j bar you’d recommend for square bars? I just attempted installing these on my square bars purchased from this site for my 2015 CRV, and it is not secure at all. Even when bolts are tightened as tight as possible, the j bars are not sturdy and are very loose on the crossbars.

Hi Jordan,
If the # e98878 isn't quite working out, we can get you a J-style kayak carrier that is going to easily secure around your square crossbars. What I like is a carrier from Yakima:
- Yakima JayLow Kayak Carrier # Y04073
I have added a photo below of the clamp system of the JayLow so you can see how they mount. You'll turn the knob and they grasp the bars from the sides, so they'll be more secure than the clamps with the bolts. The only other thing I recommend considering, if you're so inclined, is to add locks to the carrier with Lock Cores # Y07202.
