I have a short bed ram 2500 and I just bought a 2021 montana 3120rl. Do you think I will need a l slider hitch, and if so what one do you recomend?

Unless the 5th wheel is equipped with a rotating pin box like the Reese Revolution/Sidewinder or Lippert Turning Point or has the dished in corners, we do indeed recommend using a sliding 5th wheel hitch to prevent the nose of the 5th wheel from striking the rear of the truck cab.
Assuming your Ram 2500 short bed has the factory puck system in the bed floor, the B&W # BWRVK3670 is what I'd recommend. The American made B&W features a 1 inch thick hitch jaw that holds the king pin super tight, which prevents the poor ride quality caused when the king pin moves around in the hitch.
If you don't have the puck system, use # BWRVK3400-5W and the # BWGNRK1384-5W install kit.
If you do not already have a 7-way installed in the bed of your truck, you can install one using part # C56000. I've linked to some installation videos that you might find helpful.
