Will the vertex swing work well with our 1998 Toyota 4runner? Will there be an issue with the spare tire, which is mounted right behind the hitch? Thanks.

Expert Reply:
You will need to measure the distance from the center of the hitch pin hole out to the distance required to clear the rear of the vehicle. If that distance is less than 8 inches then the Apex swinging rack # TH9027XT will fit. The spare tire under the vehicle should not be a problem provided it is a factory sized spare mounted in the factory location. I have included instructions and video links on the bike rack for you.
If you will be carrying womens, childrens, or alternative frame bikes I recommend using the adapter bar, # TH982XT, for greater ground clearance and to carry the bikes more level. I have linked a video that shows how the adapter works.
