Towing Capacity for 2020 Honda Pilot

Question:

Im trying to understand something. For a 2020 Honda Pilot EX-L AWD, supposedly the max towing capacity is 5000lbs. Need AWD and trans cooler From what I gather, on average, the tongue weight is roughly 10 of the trailer weight. From what Ive read, the max tongue weight of the pilot is 350 lbs. If thats true, how can you tow a 5000 lb trailer setup if roughly 10 i.e. 500 lbs is what the tongue weight is supposed to be? Thank you.

Everything I am seeing for your 2020 Honda Pilot shows a 3,500 lb trailer weight capacity which would mean a 350 lb tongue weight capacity. The Curt hitch we have for your vehicle # C13146 that you referenced has quite a bit more capacity than this but would be a really great and mostly hidden option.

For trailer wiring you'd then want the very easy to install and reliable Tekonsha part # 118760 as well.
