My husbands ram 2500 is a 6.5 foot bed. It looks like this is for a 8 foot bed.

I attached a link to this page that has all of the fixed hitches we offer that fit the OEM rail kit of your 2018 Ram 2500 short bed. The one I recommend the highest is the B and W Companion part # BWRVK3600 as it's the quietest, highest quality, made in the USA, and also is the easiest to install and remove from the truck.
