Features to know about

Built for Heavy 5th Wheels: 24,000 lbs GTW and 6,000 lbs Vertical Load

This Curt Q24 5th wheel hitch is made for towing serious weight. With a 24,000-lb gross towing weight and 6,000-lb vertical load limit, it’s ready for large fifth-wheel trailers and long hauls. The sturdy steel construction and carbibe powder coat finish help it hold up to heavy use, giving you a stable connection that doesn’t flex or rattle down the road.

A Quiet, Secure Connection: Dual Jaw Wraps the King Pin for 360-Degree Contact

The rounded, two-piece jaw wraps completely around the king pin instead of just pushing against it like slide-bar models. That full contact gives you less rattle and more security while towing. The built-in cushioning and the unique spherical axial bearing allow smooth, quiet movement in all directions—front to back, side to side, and everything in between—so the ride feels steady and composed even over rough stretches.

Curt Q24 two-piece dual jaw mechanism securely enclosing a king pin on a fifth-wheel trailer hitch for stable, quiet towing

Know Exactly When You’re Hitched: 3-Point Color Indicator System

You can see at a glance if you’re ready to tow. The color-coded indicator shows red when uncoupled, yellow when ready to couple, and green when locked in for towing. The display is visible from the cab, so there’s no climbing into the bed to double-check. Combined with the short-throw handle and lockable latch, it’s easy to hook up or release with confidence every time.

Easier Hookups and Removal: Self-Aligning Head and Two-Pin Release

The self-aligning head pivots as you back under the trailer so hookup feels natural even on uneven ground. When it’s time to remove the hitch, pull two pins and lift off the head—doable by one person thanks to its two-piece design. Three easy-access grease fittings make upkeep simple, and the included plastic lube plate keeps everything gliding smoothly during connection.

Adjusts to Your Setup: 13–17 Inch Hitch Height Range

With four inches of height adjustment built in, you can dial in a level towing setup for your truck and trailer combination. That adjustability helps maintain proper bed rail clearance while keeping weight balanced across your rig for a safer, more comfortable tow.

very nice hitch , shipped relay fast 3 days to east coast, easy to install : had rails from old hitch,
it did come a LITTLE scratched up from shipping . one thing i wish it had more height / it does sit lower than old hitch buy 1 inch. haven't tried pulling yet / will up date latter . hope it pulls as good as it looks.
now no problem for bigger trailer, i hope! maybe a toy hauler?

so far the hitch has performed wonderfully . used it to make a trip down to Florida last fall from Va. to pick up a new landmark, witch had a heaver hitch wt. the new hitch seem to make the trip worry free

by:
I purchased a higher rated (weight) Curt hitch to prevent 'rolling' forward during hard stops. The new hitch far exceeds my trailer weight but I continue to have the problem, although not as often. I had the new hitch professionally installed.

It turned out the Curt hitch was not the problem, it was the pinbox which ultimately failed and was replaced by that manufacturer in June.

by:
Have not had the opportunity to use the new hitch to pull our RV, but did hook up to the RV to check height and ease of hookup, it's great, very happy with this hitch so far.
Ease of ordering was excellent, received it within 5 days in great condition.

In the last year we have pulled a 16,000 lb Jayco 5th Wheel over 3,200 miles, up and down mountains and across flat lands with no problems. Still easy hookup and no troubles with it latching or in latching. We grease it and re-torque the bolts as per manufacturer recommendation, a little routine preventive maintenance goes a long way. Still very happy with the hitch, and would definitely recommend it, and have several times.

by:
I love dealing with Etrailer, unit came in one piece and early......and OMG this hitch is incredible!! 4 bolts and it's in. I hitched up literally in minutes. CURT makes it idiot proof...

Honestly, this is the best hitch I have ever bought. Hitching up is simple and its definitely a better buy then anything else in its class.

by:
I bought this hitch because I am a firm believer in buy heavier than I need for safety. This hitch has been absolutely wonderful. The fifth wheel pull great with no jarring and the solid feel when attached is comforting. I can easily reach everything I need to set the hitch and lock it. The jaws are very easy to tell if I am completely hooked or not and the lock works great for a quick look to tell if ready. This hitch was very well priced (cheaper than lighter rated models) without being of "cheap" quality. I have enjoyed this hitch very much and thank goodness it breaks down into pieces for removal as it is a very heavy unit.
by:
Got my Curt Q24 finally. A very good, quality, heavy hitch. It was just a little scratched up, in same spots as all others seems to post - do to shipping by UPS. Etrailer did double box it to help, so all in all it wasn't bad. It is definitely a heavy hitch, but being able to quickly break it into pieces (head removes easily) makes it much more manageable to put in and out of the truck. Can't wait for the trailer to get in so I can try out this hitch...
Installed onto Curt rails in a 2006 F350, with no issue. Will be pulling a 18k 43' 5er soon!
Shipping was a bit on the slow side compared to other reviews - took 2 weeks to get it, but luckily my trailer is also delayed so I didn't need it immediately.
by:
Like the way hitch latches and easybto install
by:
Haven't towed with it yet,but looks like it will be more user friendly than my previous hitch.I had to adjust my rails a little to get it to fit.Shipping speed was excellent. While etrailer wrapped and stapled over the manufacturer box the contents when opened had several places where the paint was missing due to parts rubbing together during shipment.
by:
Always quick shipping and great prices !! Thanks Again

Hitch works amazing ! I have owned about a dozen different 5th wheel hitches and this one is the easiest to use and tell it 100 locked on the trailer

by:
Ordered my Curt 24k 5th wheel hitch on Tuesday, received around 230 Friday, and was installed by 5pm same day ( already had the rails). I am anxious to hook up my Heartland Big Country 3650RL to my 2006 Chevrolet dually and roll down the highway.
The hitch is alI i expected it to be, and it is quite heavy, but managed to get it installed by myself after reading the great installation instructions. As in other posts, slight scratches during shipping due to packing materials used by Curt, not etrailer's fault.
My RV has a tongue weight of 2350 lbs, 14000 overall, and 39'6" lenghth. Expectations are high that this hitch will handle it well! Thanks for the great service
by:
We took it to a shop to have it installed. It looks great, and the features to make sure our 5th wheel is securely locked in place give us peace of mind. And it's nice that the rails are made just for our 2016 Ram 3500 long bed. It really is well made and is a brute. Can't wait to get out on the road.
by:
Received my hitch very quickly, two days with free shipping. However, the hitch did arrive with a couple scraps. The company needs to work on the packaging and shipping prep. That being said, I am very happy with the hitch and the company. I called them prior to buying it and they answered all my questions, very helpful. I'd definitely buy another product from them.
by:
The Hitch was very good quality very easy to install in the 2018 Dodge Ram Total installation by myself was under an hour I plan on using it to move travel trailers fifth wheels around for people
by:
Truly happy with this product and can't wait to go to work! etrailer sent me everything I requested and the installer had no problems. Everything was packed well in shipping with no problems.
by:
Just installed the new hitch and haven’t used it yet, only thing I wish I knew I needed the power accessories to install. I figured that maybe would have came with it. But great product overall.
by:
Looks great, installed easy. Had a few scratches from shipping but it's a tool so it's not a big deal. Very happy.
by:
We had a short bed Ram 2500 and upgraded to a Ram 3500 Dually. We had a Demco Auto slide hitch in the old truck that worked well but I wanted to get back to basics without all the moving parts and noise. This hitch performed beyond my expectations. I couldn't be more happy! And as usual the Etrailer experiance was exceptional! 3 day delivery right to the place I was having it installed and in excellent condition. If only the rest of my life could move so smoothly!!!!!

Well they were awesome but we are done with the toy hauler already!

Excellent product. It allows you to choose between gooseneck and 5th wheel towing without having to destroy a factory installed gooseneck hitch! So glad I purchased this hitch! I would definitely purchase it again if I needed to!

The customer service is excellent, and the staff at etrailer knows their stuff. I watch all of the RV-related YouTube videos. I discount/ignore the not-so-bright influencers. When I see a product that would be of value, I log onto etrailer and order it.
by:
I received this box four days later than the hitch mount box, but that was due to the shipping company, not E-trailer! I assembled and installed the hitch, yet removed in preparation for the spray-in bed liner. It's easy to assemble and seperate into two more manageable pieces. Can't wait to start hauling the RV!

Still using and I really like the hitch and other items I purchased a year ago. After installing the Curt fifthwheel hitch, Ive used it several times and I will be using it a bunch over rbe next several weeks. Easy to maintain and use.

by:
Very strong hitch. I like that it easily can be taken apart, makes it not so heavy to install. Glad it has grease fittings, should last longer. Positive indication of locking to kingpin. Came within 2 days of placing the order.
Dual jaws give a sense of security.

Works well, good workmanship, good materials, good value. I hope to use it for years to come.

by:
Arrived timely in a very well protected carton. Handled shipping better than any other 150 lb item I received in a cardboard box. There are a few small scratches but nothing that some minor touch-up (semi-gloss?) won't take care of. Was able to put it together alone and install in the mounting rails in about 30 minutes. Heavier than my old 15k hitch but not so heavy I can't position it alone. May enlist help when it's time to put it away in the fall.

A full season of use and couldnt be happier. This hitch absorbs most highway chuck and is surprisingly quiet.

by:
Easy to use. Hook up is smooth. The draw handle pulls easily when ready to disconnect. Just be sure to have the weight of the trailer off of the truck before trying to pull the handle. I have found that the handle does not always lock in the open position and occasionally needs to be held open as the truck is driven forward.

Working great. To update about the handle not always locking open: This was due to operator error, I was not properly engaging the latch catch.

by:
Delivery was on time and the hitch was as described. When I opened the box the manufacturer failed to include the mounting hardware. I contacted etrailer customer service and missing items were shipped - service after the sale was excellent.

  • Troubleshooting Curt A25 Fifth Wheel Hitch that Has Stuck Latch
Hey Mark that is a bummer to hear. Have you been lubricating it at all this time? I know it's easy to forget to do that but if you do skip the components can get frozen up and hard to use. So I would go with your next plan and grease it up real nice like and I would be willing to bet it will work again. Worst case scenario we do have a replacement head unit for the A25 with the part #C16580.

I am sorry to hear about your problem with your Curt Q24 5th wheel hitch # C16245. With a trailer as large and heavy as a 42-foot Montana it will be critical to have the trailer and truck on level ground and in a straight line with each other for all coupling and uncoupling processes. That is correct, your Curt Q24 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16245 is not compatible with Rota-Flex pin boxes like the Trailair Rota-Flex 5th Wheel Pin Box # LC328330. This is due to the pivoting system in the pin box and the pivoting system in the hitch head working against each other which can ultimately lead to the hitch head failing.
