Question:

I have a 2018 Ram 3500 with the factory 5th wheel and Gooseneck set up. I currently have the BandW Companion that fit my old vehicles Gooseneck hole. I need the base to use the ram 5th wheel holes with my BandW hitch head. I am not opposed to your used units and don’t care about scratching. The only thing I need to make certain is that the base has all the hardware and pivot arms. Can you let me know what used base to get as there are several on your site? I can buy new also, just trying to save a little where I can. Also, do you take trade ins on these? I have a brand new Curt Q20 with the ram base and legs.

We do have some different options when it comes to a base for the B&W Companion 5th wheel hitch that is compatible with your 2018 Ram 3500.

If you have a 6-1/2' bed you will want to go with the slider base so that you can avoid trailer-to-cab damage when making tight turns. That is listed as part # BWRVB3670 on our site. For an 8' bed you will just need a stationary base which can be found as part # BWRVB3600 on our site.

You can order one of the used stationary bases that is currently on our site (January of 2018) if you choose to do so, but just keep in mind that some of them are missing hardware. If you choose one that is missing hardware you will simply need to contact B&W for replacement hardware for this unit.

Unfortunately we do not do trade-ins, but what you could do is sell your Curt Q20 along with your current Companion to offset the cost of a new one. The Slider for your 2018 3500 would be part # BWRVK3670 and the stationary would be part # BWRVK3600. It may be a little difficult to sell just the base of the Companion as opposed to the entire hitch itself so this might be your best option to keep from having old parts lying around.

Looking for 5th wheel hitch/ installation kits for my 2018 ram 2500. My truck does not have any factory prepped towing package for 5th wheel

We have many different options for fifth wheel set ups for your 2018 Ram 2500. My first choice for a fifth wheel hitch is always going to be the B&W Patriot. The one downfall that this hitch has is it's weight. It's difficult to get in place by yourself but with an extra set of hands it's no problem at all. If you have a regular bed on your truck the Patriot has a slide feature that will help for smooth maneuverability and clearance.
