Question:

I hope you can help me. We are looking for a 3 bike carrier for my son and his two girls. They are just recreational riders at this point. He has a 2013 C Max Hybrid SEL. I am pretty set on the EcoHitch hitch #306-X7200 because he doesn’t need a strap. Can you please recommend a 3 bike carrier for this hitch and car!! Please :-

The trailer hitch you will need to use to carry three bikes on a 2013 Ford C-Max is the 1-1/4" Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12092 because of the class II rating and 350lb tongue weight rating or the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7200 with the 2" receiver opening and a 300lb tongue weight rating. Your choice of the EcoHitch is a good one since it has the 2" opening and doesn't require the stabilizer strap.

For a bike rack, three bike carriers are pretty limited so a four rack option is the best bet. I recommend the Inno Thule Hitching Post 4 Bike Rack part # TH934XTR because it's super lightweight. The # TH934XTR will fit either one of the available hitches. That said, for bikes without a horizontal top tube you will also need the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar part # 64005.
