Inside Width of Thule 853-5423-56 Replacement Wheel Tray for Big Mouth Roof Mounted Bike Carrier

Question:
Looking for info on part # 853-5423-56 Thule wheel tray. Specifically what the width is at the top of the tray? Supposedly the 599XTR will fit 2.6 tire, but the inner dimension on my trays are slightly under 2.5. Wondering if I have an early revision of the rack/tray or if the 2.6 spec is incorrect. I would love to purchase new trays rather than new carriers if possible. Thank you

We pulled one of the # 853-5423-56 wheel trays from stock and measured it for you. At the top, the tray is 2-1/4 inches wide as shown in the photo I put together for you.
