I believe I bought this myself dont think it was a gift would I be in Yakimas system showing what i bought so I could get a replacement key? any help I could get would be so appreciated. Yakima won't keep the records for your lock number. If you have an unlocked system then you will simply need the control key # Y8007835 to remove the cylinder. Once removed the cylinder will have a number on the side, that will let you know what key number or what cylinder number you can match it to if you want additional cores and/or keys.
If your cylinder is locked, then you will either need to take it to a locksmith or carefully drill it out making sure not do damage any housing. If you end up drilling it, then you can replace the locks with the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores (QTY 4) # Y07204 which comes with a control key. I've linked a video to assist.
