Best Way to Improve Ride Quality and Stability of 2018 Thor Hurricane Motorhome

Published 05/16/2020

Question:

Thanks for looking into the best shocks, springs or stabilizers form my RV I have a gas engine Ford V10 2018 Hurricane 34R the GVWR is 22000 lbs I am very open to your suggestions -- just really need to do something to improve the handling, ride, play in steering wheel and have less sway. A friend mentioned the sumo springs but I am open to any suggestions! Do you think that can be accomplished?

We do carry the SumoSprings which do work really well for what you are wanting. What year Hurricane do you have though? With that I can look in to your best options. Also if you have the GVWR that will be extremely helpful as well.

Thanks for getting back to me. So your 2018 Hurricane 34R is build on a Ford F-53 chassis which isn't known for having a great ride quality. The best improvement you can make to the F-53 chassis is an improved rear sway bar. For that you'd want the # RM-1139-149. Next biggest improvement is a front sway bar like the # RM-1139-148 and after that the steering stabilizer # RM-RBK22-RSSA. If you do all three of these it will be a night and day difference. The SumoSprings are solid options too but I'd recommend going with the three things mentioned first.
