How To Wire the Optronics ThinLine LED Trailer Tail Light As A Marker Light

Question:

STL87RCB is the light I purchased. The wiring for the existing center, rear trailer 14foot flat bed to carry a UTV light got ripped out by brush, thus the need to replace the light. It is being used as a CENTER light with existing tail,stop/turn lights on either side. Is it possible and legal for the new STL87RCB center light to be wired to work with tail lights either turn signal and brake light or should I just wire it for tail light/brake light? Thanks!

The Optronics ThinLine LED Trailer Tail Light part # STL87RCB is a tail light but if you were instead installing the light to act as a marker light which would be its intended purpose if installed in the center of the trailer then you'd simply need to attach the running light circuit on the trailer to the black wire and then ground the white one. The red white which is for the stop/turn circuit would be capped off. It would not be able to be used as a stop light without also working as a turn signal since these circuits are combined.

In regards to legality, this is not something we can advise on.
