We have 2017 Ford Expedition from factory with 4 prong and brake controller wire. How can we convert to 7 prong and brake controller?

Expert Reply:
The 2017 Ford Expedition with a factory 4-Way plug can be converted to a 7-way plug 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit for Trailer Brake Controller Installation part # ETBC7L which will allow you to use the Curt Echo Brake Controller part # C51180 that simply plugs in line with the 7-way plug and can be controlled with a smart phone. The Curt Echo only requires turn signal/stop, running light function and a 12V power lead to operate.
The ETBC7L and the Curt Echo is the easiest way to obtain a brake controller on the Expedition because the installation of the plug requires minimal wiring compared to traditional brake controllers that require a lot more wiring functions to operate. As long as you have a smart phone/tablet Apple with an operating system 8.0 and newer or an Android with an operating system 4.4 and newer you will be set.
