Question:
Can you help me choose Best hiitch for 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 6 cyl gas - More concealable the better. Primary use - bike Rack. Note: Choosing between Draw-tite 75713 and Curt 13182 Note that I think in one place your website incorrectly says that Curt 13182 has a tow weight of 6k - but I believe it is 5k and referenced so in other places. Please confirm. Aesthetics/Concealability is most important as is use with bike rack. Would really appreciate your opinion. For some reason DT is demonstrated primarily with Durango and Curt w/ Jeep but I dont know if that means anything. Looking for a good pick of DT75713 on 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 6 cyl gas. What is tongue weight max for both? Thanks a lot!

So of the hitches you mentioned, the Draw-Tite # 75713 does not fit a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a gas engine, and the Curt # C13182 does not have a concealed crosstube so it would not be a good option for aesthetics as it would be totally visible (I did confirm this has a 6,000 lb towing/600 lb tongue weight). I do have two much better options for your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a gas engine I recommend checking out:
- Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75699
- Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13065
Both of these are 2" hitches with a 5,000 lb towing capacity and 500 lb tongue weight capacity. Both are hidden hitches with concealed crosstubes so the only thing that will be noticeable is the receiver. Between the two options I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch # C13065.
You mentioned that you were using this for a bike rack mainly, and since they have equal capacities and functions for towing, what makes the Curt hitch the better option is that is has better bumper and ground clearances. When we test fit both hitches on a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee we found the Curt to have about 3/4" better bumper clearance and 1/2" more ground clearance than the Draw-Tite.
I have added links to the directions as well as video installations of both the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75699 and Curt Trailer Hitch # C13065.
