This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver delivers the towing power you need without a complicated install. It’s a fully welded, bolt-on design — no drilling or welding required — that attaches directly to the frame using existing hardware. With a 2" x 2" receiver opening and Class III rating, it’s built for towing up to 6,000 lbs gross trailer weight and 600 lbs tongue weight, or 7,500 lbs GTW and 750 lbs TW when used with weight distribution. How difficult was the wiring? Did ur jeep already have the wiring and you simply need to plug it in?

The hitch has been installed for a year and looks great and works great. The jeep had a factory wiring harness connector but not the factory plug. I purchased the plug and mounted it. The Dealer had to activate the plug and they did that at no charge. I bought the plug from the dealer.

After first year, and multiple trips towing our travel trailer to the eastern shore and to the mtns of NC, the hitch receiver has exceeded my expectations. This was the first curt receiver I’ve ever purchased, so in the beginning, I had my concerns being a new product to me. 1 year later, I will purchase Curt products from etrailer from now on. If my recommendation helps anyone with concerns, these receivers are extremely well built and strong. My opinion, best on the market for your hard earned money! And did I mention the install? So simple, had it installed, and torqued to correct spec in half an hour. Literally anyone can do it. Get your hands a little dirty and save some money $$$!

One Year Update: Fantastic, and here is why. We have used our hitch quite a few times not just local as we have moved from MA. to SC. Weve used it for the pictured bike rack and a fold able cargo rack. The hitch is rock solid, does its job, is not in the way when empty and looks like it did the day we installed it. Highly recommend both the hitch and etrailer. Great customer service. Jay
