Troubleshooting an Ultra-Fab 4000 Electric Tongue Jack That Keeps Blowing Fuses
Updated 05/05/2020 | Published 05/04/2020 >
Question:
We installed our UF Ultra 4000 Tongue Jack and EVERY time we use it, it blows a fuse. We move it up and at the top it blows a fuse, we put in a new fuse and lower it, and it blows a fuse. What might be cause it to blow so many fuses being a new tongue jack?

Expert Reply:
Usually when something like your Ultra-Fab 4000 Electric Jack # UF38-944014 is blowing fuses in this manner it's because there is an overload of power caused by a short on the system. This could be from a faulty ground wire or an exposed power wire that is touching the frame of the trailer. I would start by examining the wires that you've got connected to the jack to make sure that there isn't any damaged wire that could be making contact with the trailer and causing this short.
If you go through the wiring and don't find anything amiss, please let me know and I can give you a few other things to look at so we can get this problem fixed for you.
