Which 7 way Wiring Harness Do I Need for a 2018 Ford Transit T-350

Updated 04/23/2020 | Published 04/22/2020

Question:

I have a 2018 Transit Passenger Wagon 350 XL which does not have a factory tow package. However, it has wiring connections for trailer wiring that are from the factory. One of the connectors is up by the gas tank drivers side and the other end is just beyond the rear axle. Aattached is a picture of the factory connector near the rear axle. I saw the answer that Jason S. that he gave to Brian S. and the parts recommended but I didnt see the matching plug on your harness recommendation to the vehicle plug. please advise

I'm not sure what that plug is for exactly, but it's not anything related to the towing wiring, so that's not the wiring that you're looking for. If you don't have the factory tow package on your vehicle, you're not going to have a way to plug something like the Curt # C55774 (which is the correct harness for the T350 with the factory towing package)- this would utilize a US car connector plug to connect a 7 way.

With that said, the Tekonsha # 22114 wiring harness is the correct harness that you're looking for that you'll ned to add a 7 way connector on your 2018 Ford Transit T350. I've linked an installation video of this to the answer and it will start by creating a 4 way connector on the van by teeing into the tail light wiring. From there, you'll add the 7 way connector and run a wire to the brake controller and vehicle battery.

If you also need a brake controller for your van, I recommend using the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 because of the proportional braking it offers. This is one of our most popular brake controllers and it comes with an easy to read LCD display.

Have a look at those installation videos I posted and they should give you a good idea of how everything is going to install.
