Thank you very much. Would you be able to recommend the part numbers I will need to add a 7 way plug including brake controller to a 2017 Mercedes sprinter 2500 passenger van that has no factory trailer wiring in place. Links to any relevant install videos would also be helpful but I'm sure I can find them if needed.

Yes, the Draw Tite hitch part # 75549 does fit your 2017 Mercedes Sprinter 2500 passenger van without the rear step and the frame width 39-1/2 inches that you mentioned.

You will need to start with a 4-way. For that you would want the # 118649. From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product as well. For a brake controller the Brake EVN # TK63VR is a really great choice that's priced well and proportional so it senses how hard you apply the vehicle brakes and applies trailer brakes proportionally.
