Question:

I have a 2016 sprinter passenger van with a spare tire which is a method 301 17 inch wheel and BFG K02 265/70/17 spare tire.

The Curt hitch part # 13358 that you referenced fits the long and short wheelbase versions of your 2016 Mercedes Benz Sprinter 2500 with the factory step bumper.

To determine if your spare carrier will fit past the bumper when this hitch is installed you'd need to take one measurement. You'll need to measure from the hitch pin hole out to the nearest upright portion of the carrier. If that distance is greater than 6-1/2 inches it will fit in this hitch and clear the rear bumper.
