Question:
Hi I have an old Thule T2 Pro 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2 Hitches and I want to extend to 4 places bikes but apparently the older add on bike rack 9036 is not anymore available. Can I buy the newer version of 9036 which is Thule T2 Pro XT 2-Bike Add-On - 2 in and would it be compatible with my Thule T2 Pro 2 Bike Platform Rack - 2 Hitches 9034 . I was reading different information, saying that the new 9036 XT add-on is not compatible with old 9034 NON XT model. I attached the box of my current bike rack for 2 only . THANKS FOR CONFIRMING THAT BEFORE I MAKE THE PURCHASE. BEST

Expert Reply:
The 2 Bike Add-On for Thule T2 Pro XT part # TH9036XT will not work with your original Thule T2 Pro 9034, and as you mentioned, the correct replacement add-on, part 9036 is no longer available. It is only compatible with the Thule T2 Pro XTR for 2" hitches, part # TH83JV.
So, if you need to carry a total of 4 bikes, your best bet would be to try to sell your T2 Pro XTR and put that towards a new bike rack. I'll list my top picks for you below:
Best bang for your buck 4-bike rack: Hollywood Racks Destination 4 Bike Platform Rack # HR4000
Budget friendly 2-bike rack with 2-bike add-on: Swagman Quad 2+2 # S64FR
Closest Premium Option to yours: Thule T2 Pro XTR 4 Bike Platform Rack part # TH69JV
I've also included links to review videos for each bike rack for you to learn more about them.
