sport rider

The Sport Rider Special Edition platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 4 bikes on the rear of your vehicle. This versatile rack is easy to use, and it features locking frame hooks and adjustable wheel hoops so you can quickly load and unload your bikes. An anti-rattle system tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the tube.

1400 SE 2-Piece

The Sport Rider SE consists of a two-bike base unit and a removable two-bike extension unit, allowing you to use the carrier as either a two- or four-bike rack. The 2 pieces make the rack easy to install because you can slide the base into your hitch and secure it before adding the extension.

Locking, Ratcheting Hooks

ratcheting hooks

The Sport Rider SE uses locking frame hooks to secure your bikes. The ratcheting, cushioned hooks easily adjust along the vertical mast and lock securely in place. The release buttons allow each hook to slide up the ratcheting arm for bike removal. The hooks function independently, which means you can position them to carry bikes of different heights.

Adjustable Wheel Hoops

wheel hoops

The wheel hoops accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60" by sliding along the horizontal arms. They are secured in place with easy-to-use hand knobs, and the Velcro-like hook-and-loop straps fasten the wheels to the hoops.

Fat Bike Wheel Cradles

If you want to carry a fat bike on the Sport Rider SE, you can replace the rack's wheel hoops with fat bike hoops (sold separately).

Folding, Tilting Design

tilting

The rack tilts, with or without bikes loaded, for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. Simply remove the pivot pin, pull the bottom quick-release spring pin, and lower the rack.

folding

The rack also folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just pull the upper quick-release spring pin and lift.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle System

The rack installs in your hitch without the need for tools. Simply slide the shank into your receiver until the welded stop plate contacts the hitch. The stop plate saves you from getting on your hands and knees to align the pin holes while inserting the hitch pin. Once the pin is in place, attach the lock pod. Lastly, use the integrated anti-wobble handle on the front of the shank to tighten the rack inside your hitch receiver and prevent it from rattling.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

The lock cores in the frame hooks hold the bike down on the rack and prevent them from moving. Also, the lock pod attaches to the hitch pin to secure the rack to your vehicle. These locks are conveniently keyed alike. For extra protection, the 8' long security cable wraps through the bike frames, connects to the hitch pin, and is secured to the pin by the hitch lock. The extension cable can be added to the 8' cable to help secure 4 bikes to the rack.

Add-On Adapters

Sport Rider SE Cargo Carrier

If you want to carry both 2 bikes and extra gear, an add-on cargo basket (sold separately) is available.

 Hollywood Racks Wheel Hoop Adapters

If you want to use the rack to transport a kid's bike with 16" or 18" wheels, wheel hoop adapters (sold separately) are available.

If you want to transport one recumbent delta trike or one recumbent tadpole-style trike with the Sport Rider SE, you can use the HRTRK-ADP adapter (sold separately). Or if you want to transport one standard bike and either one recumbent delta trike, one recumbent tadpole-style trike, or one adult trike, then you can use the HRTRK-ADP-2 adapter (sold separately).

Note: The trike adapters can only be used with the Sport Rider SE's two-bike base unit.

Such a fabulous bike rack!! The rack is simple to mount onto the van’s hitch. It’s easy to add or take off the outer rack either before or after putting it on the hitch. The two part design is a great feature for taking a bike to the shop for repair, for when it’s just the two of us, or we can quickly add the second half for two more bikes. It folds up against the back of the van easily and securely. When needed it holds four adult bikes without any problems. Bikes are SO enjoyable to load onto this rack - way better than racks that support the bike by the frame. I have a Y frame bike so it was always challenging to load it onto a traditional rack. The tire supports move to accommodate any size bike. Bikes that have the lower frame get mounted closer to the vehicle for each section of the rack. The rack is stable when driving, even when fully loaded. The locking feature is nice, especially for when we’re away from home and the bikes stay on the rack overnight. Be careful when lifting as the rack itself is heavy.

Id buy it again in a heartbeat! Were about to take our third trip to the beach a 900 mile round trip with four bikes using this rack. Weve owned it for at least two years and it has stayed in great working order. The tire adjustments are still easy to use as are the locking mechanisms. We use it throughout the summers for day trips and its so simple to use our kids can get the bikes loaded.

I've been using a Yakima RidgeBack 4-Bike for many years however I needed to find a bike rack that would transport my wife's new Trek Verve +2 Lowstep E-Bike. Since it is a Step-through and weighs 52 lbs. with the battery, I was uncomfortable hanging the bike off the RidgeBack. I typically only transport 2 bikes however occasionally need to pack up 3 or 4 bikes. After much research, I decided on the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE4. I loved the fact that I could take off the extension and make it a two back rack and appreciated the price. I was however concerned the E-Bike might be too heavy as the specifications note a 50 lb. per bike limit so I reached out directly to Hollywood Bikes. I asked if they thought it'd be alright to place the E-Bike closest to the vehicle with the battery removed. I heard back from them within 24 hours and they agreed, with the battery removed it would be fine. I ordered the SE4 on Monday morning and it arrived Thursday. It was well packaged and easy to assemble using the instructions. I had absolutely no issues and it went together perfectly. The rack is of very good quality and sturdy even when loaded up. I really like that the bikes can be locked down and everything, including the supplied cable is keyed alike. I was able set it up for only 3 bikes as that is all we're taking to Florida next week. I'll follow up after our trip.

A year later and my Sport Rider SE4 is still working great! Use mainly for two bikes but have hauled four several times.

2010 Jeep Wrangler
I was looking for a 4 bike hitch mounted rack of this style. My main goal was to have it fit my 05 Jeep Wrangler with 31 x 10.5 tires. I wanted to make sure the rack would rest in the folded up positon when not in use. I also wanted the flexibility to have only a 2 bike mount for when I ride solo.

I emailed etrailer and they were quick with a response and included a video as well. I placed the order a week ago Saturday, and my rack was delivered ahead of schedule. I was blown away by the service I received from etrailer, and am very pleased with the rack. I found it easy to install and it totally does what I need it to do.

Thank you etrailer. Keep up the great job.

I love it. It is a breeze to put it on and take it off. When it is on, I feel secure knowing that everything is locked to my vehicle. The rack itself when not in use tilts up and fits perfectly against the spare tire on my Jeep.

This rack has all the bells and whistles of a much more expensive rack at a significantly better price. My 14 year old son put it together easily from the pictures (I had a harder time following the instructions) but between the two of us it didn’t take more than 30 minutes. It is super solid, holds the bikes very securely, and I love the built in locks for each bike, which you pay a lot more for with other brands. It’s just really solid and well designed. The photo shows the 2 rack configuration on my 2018 Honda Pilot. The rear door is able to open without having to put the rack down. My son and I are exploring the great mountain biking around Fort Collins and it’s great to have the bikes on in a minute and go. Thanks Noah for making this suggestion!

Love it!

I've only just received my HR1400 Hollywood rack, assembled it, installed in on my car, and loaded it with 4 of our bikes, but I'm very impressed so far. It's exactly what I was hoping for. It is heavy, but it's extremely sturdy. I found it very easy to mount on my car and remove when I do so taking advantage of the fact it breaks into 2 pieces (which it does very easily). I'm looking forward to using it on our next outing.

By the way, etrailer.com rocks! You had the best price on this rack and it was sitting on my doorstep 2 days after ordering (ordered Wed afternoon and delivered Friday).

In addition, I had no issues with the packaging or the contents being damaged as a few others have mentioned in reviews.

Ive owned this rack for a year now and I still love it. I would definitely buy it again if I ever had the need. Clearances are fine on my vehicle. I have no issue with the Velcro-like straps. The only issue I have is that I cant open the back of my car when bikes are loaded. But honestly, I dont find that to be a huge deal.

Just received my Hollywood Rack last week and put it together and used it this weekend. The rack seems solid, easy to load bikes and the rack seems to secure the bikes well to the rack. I have not driven far with 4 bikes yet but with 2 bikes I've had no issues at all. Looking forward to years of service with the rack.

The rack arrived on time and in good shape from etrailer.com, no problems at all.

All is well. Thank you!

Great communication from seller. Fast shipping, particularly since it's free. Item arrived and was in good shape. Heavy and awkward to carry so be careful how far you have to lift it. Don't ask your wife to pick it up. Not very difficult to put together, although slowed down by cumbersome instructions with poor pictures and it took time to identify each part as the correct one. Good quality unit, although some packing styrofoam was glued to bars leaving several stretches of white, sticky goo on the upwards facing bars where the tire holders slide. Makes adjusting the tire holders more difficult. Overall a good product and handles the 4 bikes well. Will see over time how it holds up to consistent use.

2015 Honda Odyssey
The quality of the trailer hitch and assembly is excellent. Very happy with the quality and the purchase price. Given I was installing on a 2004 Honda Odyssey in 2015, I did have difficulty with the pre-drilled holes and threads on the frame of the vehicle. I made several attempted to clean the threads but was unsuccessful. I eventually took the hitch assembly to a local installer and they put it on for $[...]. The instructions provided for self installation were very clear and straight forward. I use my hitch assembly to haul bikes around to various triathlons. I purchased the bike carrier separately and it slides right into the hitch opening and locks on.
by:
Great bike rack, significantly cheaper than other tray-style mounts. This rack does carry a kids 16" bike (must buy the adapter from e-trailer), which is one of the reasons why we went with the Hollywood Rack. For the adult bike, we used a foam noodle on the top post to prevent damage to the gear cables. There was some paint damage to the rack that I am assuming occurred during shipping that I'll need to touch up with a can of spray-paint, but other than that, I am pleased with the rack!
by:
So far I am very impressed with the quality of this rack. The box arrived undamaged and the rack was in perfect condition. The finish is very nice and robust powder coat. Assembly was a breeze with the included instructions. As other have mentioned it is very strong and a bit heavy.. I am 6'2 200lbs and have no trouble handling it at all by myself as long as I do it in 2 pieces. The rack is very easy to separate into 2 pieces. I haven't used it yet buy I have no doubt it will work splendidly. I hung it using a hitch mount bracket that I ordered from Amazon. I was able to hang it underneath some 12 inch shelves and all I had to do was reverse the 2 bike rear section to allow the rack to clear the shelves. Fits like a glove.

Excellent 4 bike platform rack in a 2+2 configuration

Very sturdy rack. Assembly instructions could have been better though installation was straightforward. Encountered a small issue with the placement of 4 bikes (17" MTB, 15" WMN MTB, 13" MTB and 24" dialed kids) because of the geometry of the bike's top tubes but after figuring out optimal placement and sizing the width of the wheel holders correctly, bikes were generally easy to get in and out.

Installed on back of '17 Highlander XLE attached to an etrailer Hitch Receiver (Item # e98844). Folds up nicely when not in use. Not getting access to truck might be an issue for some buyers but not a concern for me. Comes down to the price/feature/quality conundrum and there really isn't too many in this price range that offers a 2+2 configuration and highly rated by buyers.

Great delivery service from etrailer.

I was a Thule rack owner at one time, but needed to upgrade to a tray rack that could hold 4 bikes. I was skeptical about anything other than a Thule. Even though the Thule was much pricier, I wanted to stick with what I was comfortable with. I was convinced after discussing different options with a customer rep that this rack would be just as good and perform to my expectations...

This rack has exceeded my expectations (more to follow). My Thule rack was very mobile while driving even when I would tighten the receiver pin to the rack. It would sway every time I would hit a bump, turn a corner or accelerate/brake hard. The other downfall was my former Thule would not tilt down to allow access to my cargo area of either one of our SUVs. It was also a bit heavier as well.
However...this Hollywood rack has been performing better than I expected. I would definitely advise anyone who is looking for a quality bike rack that can convert from 2 to 4 bikes to seriously consider this rack. Here are the following reasons:

1: This rack barely moves when you tighten it to the receiver. It is solid. It only moves slightly, and even then I have to really watch the rack in order to catch it moving.

2: The receiver pin, vertical clamps, and bike cable are all keyed alike (4 keys)
3: Rack is heavy duty but light enough for a small female to handle and install on a vehicle.

4: Assembly is easy enough for a grade school child to perform. Took me all of 30 minutes including finding parts my daughter was "stealing".

5: The product was shipped in the product box which was inside of another heavy duty cardboard box.

6: The tilting rack clears enough room for my cargo door on my VW Touareg.

7: The bikes are held on very securely and do NOT move once locked into position.

etrailer has excellent customer service.

Just received my rack and assembled it. I had a small issue with the bolt of the second rack but got it through eventually with a little hammering. Loaded all four bikes on the rack today and took it for a test drive. Very strong and steady. It looks really nice and so far I like it.

Rack is still solid and I like it very much. No issues at at all.

by:
I am very pleased with this rack. As you see in the picture I only assembled the 2 bike option. We bought the 4 bike option to be able to carry the grandkid's bikes when needed. This rack easily accomodated my Surly Big Dummy (60" wheelbase) and my wife's Xtracycle RFA electric bike. The only drawback is that it is a little bit clumsy to get the back bicycle onto the rack. Hopefully I will get the hang of it. The Rack is extremely stable. The hitch tightner works fabulous!
by:
I researched bike racks that can carry four bikes for a long time before settling on this rack. I was very nervous about this one given the price is about $400-$500 less than other comparable racks. However, I am very pleased with this after our first weekend using it to haul all four of our family's bikes.

Assembly was relatively straightforward. Upon opening, I was very pleased with how "solid" all the parts are. I would have preferred some exploded drawings or some with a wider perspective of the rack as sometimes it took a few minutes staring at the drawings to understand the next step. I was able to put the entire rack together in about an hour or so. I used my own ratchet set and wrenches rather than the wrench included. You'll have a much easier time if you use quality tools rather that the basic wrench included. We went ahead and put all the bikes on the rack prior to our first trip so that we could take the time to adjust where all the tire supports should go. This process took a bit of time (probably 30 minutes or so for four bikes).

Our first trip with the bikes was great. Since we took the time to adjust all the tire supports after initial assembly, it took no time at all to get all the bikes on the rack. We drove about 30 miles for our first outing with the rack. The bikes rode very well with little movement on city streets and on the highway. We had no issues with the bikes rubbing each other or getting scratched due to movement as we have had with other racks that "hang" the bikes rather than set them in a tire support. We were hauling one men's bike, two women's bikes adult bikes and one kid bike with 20" wheels in the photos I have included in the review.

We have a 2018 GMC Yukon XL. We were able to completely open the window on the back hatch without tilting the rack downward. We did have to adjust the handlebars on the bike closest to the car to get full clearance. With the rack tilted down, we are able to get the back hatch open almost 75% of the way open. The only issue with tilting the rack fully loaded is it is very heavy, so you'll need two people (one to pull the pin and one to lift the rack). Removal of the rack was easy. It's heavy, but I was able to lift it without separating the rack into two pieces without any problem. You could separate the two and lift each separately to lighten the load.

I am very pleased with this purchase and cannot believe the quality for the price!

2019 Subaru Outback Wagon
This bike rack came quickly (thanks etrailer!) and was easy to put together. Just purchased an e-bike and needed a rack that would hold one. We put both my road bike and the e-bike on the rack and both fit perfectly on my 2019 Subaru Outback. I like that everything it adjustable for any bike.

The rack is heavy and I was concerned about putting it on the car and taking it off myself but I managed. I like that you can tilt the rack to make it easier to get the bike on. We have a driveway with an incline so we were concerned about how low the rack was but we were able to go down and come back up with and without bikes on. (Just went super slow)

I had never bought a Hollywood rack before so I was a bit nervous but now I’m a huge fan!
by:
Love our new Hollywood rack! It was easy to assemble. It looks really solid and secure while driving. Bikes are quickly and easily loaded. Can’t wait to try it out with the cargo tray. One minor suggestion, please make the Velcro tire straps a little longer. They barely fit around the bike with the 3” tires.
by:
2016 Honda Odyssey
Pure awesomeness! But I’ll remind you now, lest you forget in your enthusiasm: the pin’s not stuck, you secured it down with that crank as one of the first steps. No hammer needed. Just sayin). I can’t wait for the next trip. No more fighting forever to get the handlebars untangled while I try to fit all the bikes on. Which I contend is IMPOSSIBLE on those stupid hanging rack types. No more wheels flopping in the breeze potentially scratching my car. No more removing the wheels because the bike shop sold me a carrier that was too low for my minivan. No more bikes bouncing up and down while I drive. No more scraping the exit curbs. AND I still have a decent view out of the back up camera/screen!!
I was able to open the hatch with the bikes tilted. You have to hold the bike closest back a little. I let it do it by itself and the auto open forced it way through instead of stopping and it did scratch the car. But closing it, I stayed at the handle bars and gently pushed and it cleared fine.
And it locks to the car. No more fear my rack will get stolen. And comes with another lock for the bikes.
Sure a bottle opener would be a cool feature. I’ll rubberbad one on.
It’s SO worth the money! Stop comparing and put it in the cart.
By the way, the pics only show it set up with two racks. I love that I can customize it to the number of us going out for the day.

2013 Jeep Wrangler
I called etrailer on a Tuesday and asked if I could get the rack by Thursday. I did! Etrailer service rocks! This was the third time I have ordered from etrailer. We just finished a 700 mile round trip weekend with the bike rack. We had 2 bikes for part of the trip and 4 bikes for the rest of the trip. I was very happy with the performance of the rack. Easy to install and very solid. It held the bikes very securely. I did not place the large hook over the lowest part of the top tube, as directed, because it caused the mountain bike tires to extend several inches beyond the side of the vehicle. (The picture from the rear is deceiving because of perspective. The tires were only about an inch outside vehicle profile as loaded.) The hooks held just fine as shown in photo. I used it on a 2013 Wrangler Sahara 2 door with factory P255/70R 18" tires. The bikes went onto the rack easily without a receiver extension. We could not, however tilt the rack to open tailgate or fold rack and lock into upright position. It lacked about 1" of clearing spare tire in both cases. Small issue, in my opinion. I'll probably just go to a machine shop and have a 1" extension fabricated.
by:
Install pretty easy, just take your time. Took longer to match up the bikes since we have 2 kids/training wheels and wife has a step through. Honestly a great value with the included hitch lock and cable lock. Already used rack and it was solid with no movement to worry about. No way I would have fit these bikes on a normal bike rack. Only issue was missing a set screw in the kit (minor).
by:
2015 Dodge Durango
This rack works perfect with our 2015 Dodge Durango. I am able to lower it down and fully open the rear hatch which was the main reason I chose this rack. It is heavy, but the system to tighten it down in the receiver eliminates any play or wobble. I can load 4 bikes in less than 5 minutes!! I fabricated a bracket to also hold my kids trail-a-bike.
by:
Fast shipping! Thank you!
Assembly instructions were clear. Took about an hour to do by myself. Rack is heavy but I like the quality feel it has. It took a little time to adjust the components but once they were in place it was easy to load the bikes. They all feel secure and the rack doesn't wobble like the previous hitch rack we had purchased.
Off to the bike park!
by:
Thanks to etrailer for upgrading the Standard shipping to 3-5 Day Express shipping at no additional cost. We used the HR1400 bike rack this weekend with 2 bikes. It's very quick and easy to load and unload the bikes. It hold the bikes very securely. Great Product!
by:
The rack is awesome, and works great. It's just a little heavy and bulky. I was able to fit 2 adult and 2 kid bikes after some trial and error to get them all to fit. I did not need any adapters for the kid bikes.

Honda Odyssey
Love this bike rack. My son helped to put it together and that was the only help I needed. I can put it on my odyssey by myself and also take it off by myself. A sales person at a local bike shop told me not to get it unless I was planning on leaving it on all the time because it would be too heavy. Needless to say he was wrong. My husband and I have used it twice and plan on taking more trips along with our bikes. Everything arrived when expected and no problems. I would recommend this rack to anyone wanting a sturdy bike rack. It is also nice that if we don't have more than two bikes we can take part of it off and have a 2 bike rack.

  • Bike Rack for Carrying 4 Lectric XP 60 lb E-Bikes With an SUV
I have a potential solution for you, but pretty much every 4-bike rack will have a reduced weight rating when you include that 2-bike add-on so 60 lbs per bike is a tall order. With that being said, we do have the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR1400Z which can hold up to 4 heavy bikes weighing in at 50 lbs each. If you can lose another 3 lbs per bike after you remove the battery you'll be able to safely carry all of your bikes. If you don't have a way to remove...

We do offer an upright style rack that can hold a 50 lb bike with the Softride Hang2 # SR27041, but this can only carry two bikes. • Is a Bike Adapter Bar Needed for a Trek 7100
I would indeed recommend using a bike adapter bar like part # 64005 when carrying your Trek 7100 on the Swagman Original Bike Rack part # S64152-2. The reason for this is because if you attached the bike rack directly to the carrier without an adapter bar, the front wheel would hang very close to the ground and if you were to hit a bump or go up a steep incline, the bike could make contact with the road and damage both the bike and bike rack.

  • Best Trailer Hitch for Use with Bike Rack on a 2014 Chevrolet Impala LTZ
The best trailer hitch we have for your 2014 Chevrolet Impala LTZ is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36538 which is a custom fit and will not require any drilling. The Draw-Tite option is a Class II hitch with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. I like the Draw-Tite hitches as they do not require the use of an added support strap like the Curt hitches will. You can see how it installs using the attached video on a similar 2015 Chevrolet Impala. Please note that you will be limited...

  • Strongest 4-Bike Rack For Use on Motorhome
Hey Andy, I can help you out here and the strongest 4-bike rack that is also rated for use on the back of a motorhome is one from Hollywood Racks: - Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR1400Z The # HR1400Z has a 50 lb per-bike capacity (so 200 lbs total), is made of steel, and has an anti-rattle handle that you turn to ensure added stability while the rack is in your hitch. Hollywood Racks is known for making the sturdiest bike racks, and it's exactly the brand I...

  • Bike Rack To Hold 4 Bike On A 2014 Toyota Prius
For a Hitch mounted 4 bike bike rack on your 2014 Toyota prius I recommend the Thule Hitching Post Pro - Folding Tilting 4 Bike Rack w Anti-Sway - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches Item # TH934XTR. Keep in mind you do not want to exceed the tongue weight capacity of the hitch itself. As far as trunk mounted bike rack we do not offer a 4 bike rack that is compatible with that vehicle. If you are looking for a hitch, I recommend the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2" Item # 306-X7178....

  • Why Cant Some Bike Racks be Used on the Back of an RV or Trailer
Only certain bike racks are rated for use at the back of an RV or trailer but the Hollywood Racks # HR1400Z bike rack is not one of them. Generally, any rack that can fold or tilt, with few exceptions, won't be rated for this applications. The reason is that there is significantly more movement at the back of an RV or trailer due to the distance from the rear axle to the end of the vehicle/trailer and/or because the suspension is not as effective in many cases as a passenger vehicle. Folding/titling...

  • Does The Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # NV22G-NA22G Interfere With Bike Fenders
Hi Rebekka, The Kuat NV 2.0 Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # NV22G-NA22G has a ratcheting arm that will interfere with front fenders so it unfortunately wouldn't be the best option option for hauling your bikes. If you wanted to stick with the Kuat brand then you'll need the Kuat Piston Pro Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # KU58ZR instead, which does mount via the wheels but the arms don't have to rest against the forks and interfere with the fenders. Inno offers a similar style rack # INH142 that's quite...

  • What are the Pros/Cons of the Sport Rider SE 4 # HR1400Z and the Malone Runway 4 # MAL82VR?
When it comes to hitch-mounted carriers by Hollywood Racks and Malone that can carry adult bikes, kids bikes, and mountain bikes, one pro of the Hollywood Racks models is the weight capacity. If you are looking at a rack like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches # HR1400Z, the per-bike weight capacity is 50 pounds. This is great for heavier adult bikes (not electric bikes) and full-suspension mountain bikes. Another great advantage is that the Sport Rider...

  • Hitch Mount Bike Rack to Carry Fat Tire Electric Bikes
I do have a solution for you, but while we do have 4-bike racks that work with fat tire bikes, none of them are able to carry 4 bikes that weigh in at 65 - 70 lbs each like what you're talking about. The closest we have is something like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # HR1400Z which only goes up to 50 lbs per bike. Because of this, I believe your best scenario is to fold up 2 of the bikes and put them in the back of your vehicle and then using a bike rack like...

  • 1-1/4 Inch to 2 Inch Inch Hitch Adapter With Rise That has Most Clearance
The 1-1/4 inch to 2 inch adapter with rise that has the most clearance from the pin hole to the back of the adapter is the Brophy Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver with 5" Rise # HT5R. This adapter is approximately 3-3/8 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the adapter. So there is nothing that is 4 inches with a rise, and the use of any adapter will reduce the capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. So for example if you had a 2019 Buick LaCrosse with...

  • Adapter for E-Bikes on Hollywood Racks Destination Bike Rack
Hi Megan; the Hollywood Racks Bike Frame Adapter Bar for Women's and Alternative Frame Bikes # HRBA-PRO would help you mount the bikes on that bike rack. However, a bigger concern is the bike rack capacity. The Hollywood Racks Destination # HR4000 has a capacity of 35 lbs per bike. More than likely you're exceeding that with your e-bikes. If that is the case, you're better off selling the bike rack and getting a new one like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z you looked at which...

  • 3 Bike Rack for Carrying Mountain Bike, 20 inch Bike, and Step Through Bike with Fenders
The easiest bike rack solution to carry all three of the bikes you mentioned would be with a hanging bike rack like the Thule Helium Pro 3 part # TH9043PRO. This will easily carry the mountain bike, since the distance between the cradle arms is 13 inches would easily carry the 20 inch bike, and with a bike frame adapter bar like part # UB01 would easily carry the step through bike with fender.

  • Availability of 4 Bike Rack for Use on an RV
I am guessing by RV you mean camper or 5th wheel trailer. If this is the case then I recommend using the Lets Go Aero V-Lectric Bike Rack # LGA77FR. This is compatible with up to 2 bikes but can be expanded to a 4-bike system with the 2-Bike Add-On for Lets Go Aero V-Lectric Electric Bike Rack for 2" Hitches # LGA94FR. It isn't a traditional platform rack but it does secure the bikes by their wheels so there is no frame contact and has a whopping capacity of 75 lbs per bike, making it a...

  • What Hitch Bike Rack Do You Recommend for a 2021 Mercedes GLC?
For a bike rack that fits your 2-inch trailer hitch on your 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLC, it really depends on if you have heavier bikes, bikes with fenders, and the number of bikes that you wish to transport. If you have heavier bikes or bikes with fenders, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HR200Z (2-bike version) and the # HR1400Z (4-bike version). the Sport Rider SE has a maximum per-bike weight capacity of 80 pounds, and the frame attachment style of the rack will allow you...

  • What Trunk Bike Rack Will Fit on a 2021 Audi Q7?
For a hitch on your 2021 Audi Q7, I recommend the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver - 2" # e88KR. The etrailer comes with 700 pounds of maximum tongue weight and 7,000 pounds of gross towing weight, so it will give you the peace of mind knowing there won't be any weight issues. Also, as far as ground clearance, the distance between the ground and the opening of the receiver is about 12-1/4 inches. With that height, you will not run into dragging issues. I went ahead and linked a video of...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch And Hitch-Mounted Bike Carrier For 2010 Toyota RAV4
The hitch I recommend for your 2010 Toyota RAV4 is the Curt Trailer Hitch, part # C13149. This is a Class lll hitch and has a 2 inch receiver opening. I have attached a link to an installation video for this hitch on a RAV4 you can take a look at. As the video shows, there is a measurement of about 6 inches from the hitch pin hole to the back of the spare tire cover. We will use that measurement for making a recommendation. I have attached a link to a helpful article that explains how...

  • Is There a Etrike Vertical Bumper RV Mount Rack?
Hi Doyle, Thanks for reaching out! I looked into this for you, and unfortunately, we don't carry any vertical e-trike bumper-mounted racks for a Forest River Ultra Lite. These setups are pretty specialized — especially when it comes to carrying heavy e-trikes like yours (84 lbs each!). There are a few options on the market but they are rare. Most RV bumpers, including the one on the Ultra Lite, really aren’t built to handle that much weight, particularly with the extra stress of a vertical...

  • Trailer Hitch And Bike Rack Recommendation For A 2020 Mazda CX-9
Hey Phil, you came to the right place, and I am happy to help. Firstly, as far as the trailer hitch for your 2020 Mazda CX-9, I recommend the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e87AR. This has a 2" receiver which is very common. This means you will have a lot of great bike rack options available to you. Also, the 2" receiver is standard, and if you do get another vehicle down the line, you can install a new hitch and use the same bike rack. Just keep in mind that the 2" receiver is used mainly...

  • Can Bikes with Fenders be Loaded Up on the Thule ReVert Bike Rack
Hey Bill, thanks for reaching out! I looked at the instructions for the Thule ReVert Bike Rack # TH73VA, and it does look like they exclude bikes with fenders from their fitments, so we'll need to look at a different solution. And for that, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE # HR1400Z. The Sport Rider SE is one of my favorite bike racks because it's compatible with a wide variety of bike styles. It uses frame-mount hooks so nothing is comping in contact with your fenders and...
