The inside diameter and the depth of the brake drum is what determines the necessary width of the brake pads. For example, the 10 inch x 2-1/4 inch Electric Brake Shoe, part number BP04-090 that you refer to would fit a brake drum with a 10 inch diameter and 2-1/4 inch depth.

The wires on the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Assembly #K23-478-00 are 12 gauge wires. We recommend using 10 Gauge Wire #10-1-1 from the trailer 7-Way connector to the brakes though to help ensure enough power gets to them.
