What Does the 2-1/4 inch Dimension of a 10 inch by 2-1/4 inch Hub and Drum Represent

On a 10inch X 2 1/4inch drum how are you getting the 2 1/4inch measurement?

That would be the depth of the inside of the hub. If you check out the picture I attached the blue lines represent the depth. This will also be the width of the brake shoes on the brake assemblies.
