Can the Thule T2 Pro XTR Be Used On Bikes with Fenders/Racks

Question:

Can a touring bike with fenders and racks be held down by the hook arm on platform bike racks ?

The Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Platform Rack part # TH83JV is a wheel mount bike rack which cannot be used to secure bikes with fenders or racks. Instead, you will need to use a bike rack with frame mounts which can be used to secure bikes with fenders or a rack, the Saris Freedom 4 Bike Platform Rack part # SA4414B is what I recommend as there also won't be an issue with the bikes that have the deep drop tube frame either that is typical for the touring bikes you are looking to carry. If you want to add locks, you can use the Hitch Tite Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock part # SA3022 for the rack and the Saris Cable Lock part # SA981 for the bikes.

I also like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE part # HR1400Z but keep in mind there is a limit to how far down the upright hooks can reach on deep drop tube bike frames.
