Does Saris Freedom Bike Rack Only Work with Saris Locking Hitch Pin and Cable Lock

Can you use a generic or etrailer branded locking hitch bolt and cable lock with the Saris Freedom 4, or will only the Saris branded ones work? Thanks.

Hi Adam!
The Saris Freedom Bike Rack for 4 Bikes # SA4414B will only work with the Saris brand of locking hitch pin so the kit you're looking or is the 8' Cable Lock and Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock for Saris Hitch Mounted Bike Racks # SA984.
Since the Freedom does come with an anti-rattle hitch bolt already, you can potentially just use a longer cable lock like the 10' etrailer # e98891 and just wrap it in and around your bikes, the bike rack, and through the safety chain loop on your trailer hitch. It isn't as nice as a matching pin and cable set, but it is more cost-effective and will help to deter theft.
