Looking for the easiest and lightest above bed install package with autoslider hitch of 16K along with rails and wiring packages needed for hookup and driving off the lot, looking at Montana 5th wheels and Grand Design 5th wheel makes never had a 5th wheel only driver RVs so any and all help will be greatly appreciated and please add anything you might think would be of help thanks, 2015 GMC SIERRA 2500HD NON FACTORY PREP gas motor short bed crew cab

I recommend the Demco Hijacker 18K Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider part # DM8550034 with the custom rails part # DM8552011-71 for the 2015 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed. The Hijacker is designed so you don't have to get out of the truck to adjust the slider when making a sharp turn which can become very inconvenient especially in cold weather. The Hijacker will give you about 14" of travel for cab clearance and 3" of adjustable height for bed rail clearance. We do recommend to have 5-6" of bed rail clearance when towing a fifth wheel. I have attached a diagram for your reference. The rails part # DM8552011-71 for your truck are custom so the included brackets bolt right up to the frame for an easy installation. I have attached an installation video for your reference.
It sounds like you are concerned about the weight of the fifth wheel (understandably so). The Hijacker does weigh about 300 lbs however it can be broken down into 3 manageable pieces. The head weighs around 60 lbs, the base weighs around 180 lbs and the side brackets are around 60 lbs so you can easily remove it from the bed. Most of your customers use the Demco lifting bracket part # DM6100 to lift it out of the bed.
You also need the 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness w/ 7-Pole Plug part # 50-97-410 which will plug into the truck's 7-way and extend to the bed giving you an additional plug in the bed for easy hookup. I have attached a video of this as well.
