Question:

What is the Length and Width of the opening of the box which is what limits the size of object you can actually put in it. I looks to have a 1/2 to 1 inch lip around the opening.

The overall length and width of the DeeZee Specialty Series ATV Toolbox # DZM207 is 35" long x 12" wide x 12-1/2" tall not including the lid. The thickness of the walls of the box is 1/4 inch so you'd subtract 1/2 inch from the length and width to get the interior dimensions. So 34-1/2 inch by 11-1/2 inch is the inside dimensions you are looking for.
