Can the wiring exit the bottom of the back channel to go through the wall of of RV I have a 2005 Sunnybrook 3605 titan. I want to convert my Dometic 16 foot Manual 8500 to solera power. I saw a video where the roller tube had to be cut. Why does that have to be cut.

I contacted Lippert and to convert your Dometic awning to the Solera Power 12V awning you would need Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit - Universal part # LC434724 in white or Solera 12V Power RV Awning Conversion Kit - Universal part # LC434723 in black. There will not be any need to cut the roller tube the only modification you make to the Dometic roller tube is remove the torsion springs.

Would the LC434724 conversion kit work for a Dometic pull awning as well? Or just a manual crank? My current awning is a 16ft pull.
