Question:
I need a new jack but I have 2 tongue loads on the tongue. The gross weight is 25000 lbs.

Expert Reply:
The tongue weight capacity of your trailer coupler is not really needed when choosing a replacement tongue jack. The replacement tongue jack just needs to be rated for the tongue weight of the trailer which is around 10-15% of the total weight. That said, I see it says the max weight capacity that can be used for a trailer jack is 5,000 lbs so if you wanted to be covered without worrying about how much your trailer weighs exactly you can just go with the etrailer Round, A-Frame Jack part # TJA-5000S-B which is rated for 5,000 lbs and will fit the existing mounting holes as well.
