Question:
I recently bought a used 2014 Forrest river flagstaff Mac 205. I’ve taken it on a couple long trips and realized I need to upgrade some things, mainly the leaf springs and the tires. I’ve experienced a leaf spring failure and a tire blowout. I may have exceeded the speed rating of the tire by a little bit but the leaf spring was rather annoying. My question is can I upgrade the leaf spring to heavier leaf spring than the factory ones. The camper weighs like 2300 lbs dry and like 2900 loaded which I was aware of and was not over weight when mine failed. My camper has 3 leafs which I’ve noticed yall have options that looks like they’d fit that are 4 and 5 leafs. I’m hoping that I can upgrade this or never feeling comfortable taking the pop up to far from home. The website and customer service are great and info would be appreciated

According to my research, the GVWR of your Forest River Flagstaff Mac 205 pop-up is 2649 lbs which would represent the maximum the camper could weigh when fully loaded.
Given this, the camper would likely have a 3000 or a 3500 lb capacity axle. You'll want to verify this by checking the ID tag on the axle. The number of leaves really makes no difference to the capacity.
To get the proper length spring, you'll want to measure from center of the spring eye to the center of the spring eye. Because leaf springs flatten out over time, the easiest way to get an accurate measurement is to jack the trailer up and measure that distance while the axle is hanging. The most likely replacement would be # e54SR which measure 25-1/8 inches. It's recommended that leaf springs be replaced in pairs.
For a slightly higher rated spring, you could go with the # e57SR which measures 25-1/4 inches. I really couldn't recommend increasing the capacity of the suspension any more than that, as it would make the pop-up ride much stiffer which could actually damage something. As long as the spring's capacity isn't exceeded, you should have no further problems.
I've provided you a photo showing the needed measurement.
