Is There a Minimum Panel Thickness When Installing Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro

Question:

Hello, what panel thickness is required for proper installation of the REDARC panel # 331-TPSI-003? Though installation hole diameter requirements are answered in other related questions, panel minimum/maximum thicknesses aren’t mentioned anywhere... I purchased and have begun to modify an OE brake control panel for a 2015 Silverado but will hold off gluing and painting the fill panel until this arrives and the required dimensions are gathered... measure twice, cut once... Thanks...

Standard interior panel thicknesses will work great with the Mounting Panel for Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller Control Knob # 331-TPSI-003. The panel you are planning to install this on I am sure is totally fine since it was designed for holding the integrated controller of the 2015 Chevy Silverado. We had a customer come back and send us a picture of this used on a similar 2014 GMC Sierra and they said it fit and worked well. I attached a photo. Redarc does not have a minimum thickness figure stated at this time though.
