Could Scissor Jack be Used on Motorhome
Published 09/05/2019 >
Question:
I have a Class A 38’ motor home. Has hydraulic leveling jacks. One is broke and another one failing very soon it appears. Had an idea to just keep all of them in up position and use scissor jacks to level and stable rv. Cheaper then repairing system and more reliable with little to fail. About 22000 pounds gross weight. So I’m thinking 4 one at each corner should work with 2000 pounds capacity not being used. Was wondering if anyone has tried this. If it is a great idea or a horrible one. Appreciate any input.

Using scissor jacks on a motorhome generally aren't used but I don't see why it wouldn't work for you. You'd just have to deal with the manual operation of four of the # UF48-979006 every time you park. If you are okay with that there's no reason it would work for you as the capacity needed is there.
