Question:
I just purchased a curt t connector part #C56031 for my 2005 f150. The factory hookup is there now and is shot. The problem is the one factory connection back to the truck is rectangular and the 2 connectors on the t look round. Am I looking too deep into this? Just want to make sure Im ordering the right replacement

Thank you for the photo! The Curt T-Connector # C56031 you purchased is the correct replacement wiring harness for your 2005 Ford F-150 without a factory 7-pole connector (only a 4-pole) regardless of the style of connector on the factory harness.
The Curt T-Connector # C56031 will actually connect directly into your vehicle taillight wiring harness (bypassing the tow package harness). This harness will have the same connector end as the # C56031. The most common location is underneath vehicle behind the rear bumper near the driver’s side frame rail (see attached photo).
The Tow Package Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118247 you were looking at is only confirmed to fit the 2004 Ford F-150 with a factory 4-Flat.
