Question:
We have steps that have a broken gear plate - They say that this part is no longer made. I would like to just switch to the manual steps - I purchased 24inch triple step but my husband said they will not fit - Do you know if you can replace automatic steps with manual steps and if so what kind? Thanks for your help. 2006 Georgetown 37ft XL

You absolutely can replace powered RV steps with manual steps to save yourself the headaches of wiring issues, bad motors and also to reduce the number of devices that put demands on your motorhome's power system.
Our range of 3-step manual pull-out steps is shown on the linked page. Motorhomes typically use a 24-inch size step but we do also have a 25-inch model # LC432690. What you'll want to do is measure the size of the mounting bracket on your original part. For a great value I really like the USA-made Hickory Springs # 953240RXWC3 whose mounting bracket measures 27-1/2 wide x 12-inches deep.
If there is a slight difference in the mounting dimensions you may simply need to add the step Outrigger kit # LC301704 which works like an adapter to give you a sturdy mounting point to which you can bolt the steps. You also have the option of having a local shop that welds install them in that manner.
